Baloch leader Akhtar Mengal released from prison

Karachi, May 9 : Former Balochistan Chief Minister Sardar Akhtar Mengal was released from a jail in Karachi on Friday.
Mengal made his way out of a hospital in the company of Sindh Interior Minister Zulifiqar Mirza, who carried his release order into the premises. Mengal was undergoing medical treatment.
Akhtar Mengal was shifted to Karachi jail on December 24, 2006.
Talking to media on this occasion, Megal demanded a probe into the killings of all innocent people, including former PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto.
He termed his release as the defeat of dictatorship and the victory of democracy.
He thanked the media and civil society, adding that the judges' restoration is vital to dispel the sense of deprivation among Pakistanis.
The Baloch leader said he was released without any deal, as there is no word of deal in the Baloch dictionary.
