Walter Hadlee gravely ill

A leading figure of New Zealand cricket is gravely ill in Christchurch.

Walter Hadlee is in Princess Margaret Hospital after suffering a stroke. The 91-year-old captained the New Zealand cricket team in the late 1940s and went on to become a prominent administrator.

Three of his sons, Sir Richard, Dayle and Barry, all played for New Zealand.
