Iran is not worried by US radar stations in Azerbaijan
Breaking News published on 07/02/2006

Tehran, 7 February 2006 (Regnum - website) - Tehran has nothing against deployment of two US radar stations in Azerbaijan, one of which is targeted to Iran, Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Afshar Suleimani noted at a news conference. “The reports by the official Baku suit us well that the radar systems are just internal question of Azerbaijan, which is not directed against other countries,” said the Iranian diplomat.

According to him, the Iranian nuclear program is developing strictly in accordance with the international law, in the atmosphere of transparency. Suleimani stressed, the Iranian leadership trusts fully to statements of official Baku about impossibility of using the Azerbaijani territory against Iran. “Blackmailing by intervention to Iran is not serious, because Iran is not Iraq, and no country in the region, no world power would support the US in it,” said the Iranian ambassador.
