Canadian company offers free mobile phone calls
    Malaysia Sun
    Tuesday 18th September, 2007

Calls to mobile phones are becoming cheaper, if not free, in some countries.

A Vancouver based company has developed software which when downloaded to a cell phone, uses the Internet to make cheap calls

The model is similar to Skype, which allows users to make calls over the Internet from their computers.

The Vancouver outfit, Eqo, works on standard mobile phones that have basic Internet service.

Eqo users are able to call mobile phones for free, whether or not they live in the same country.

Presently, Eqo is available in 29 countries throughout Europe and the Middle East but should be available in 60 countries by the end of 2008.
