    Big News Network (UPI)
    Saturday 17th May, 2008

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has announced a grant of US$7 million to support relief efforts in the aftermath of Monday's massive earthquake in China.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, the Secretary General said that the grant would be used by UN agencies, funds and programs to assist with urgent relief efforts.

"The United Nations stands ready to provide further support, as required, to the Government of China in its efforts to respond to the humanitarian needs caused by the disaster," his spokesperson said.

The secretary-general commended Beijing authorities for their fast and effective action and expressed his sincere condolences to the victims and their families.

If the Army isn’t really providing relief & aid for the cyclone victims, whats the chances the victims will get to see the $7 million if it was given to Burma as well?

    God is NOT with us

Where was God when the cyclone ravaged Burma? Where was God when the schools collapsed on top of the students? Where was God when hurricane Katrina tore New Orleans to pieces?... God wasn’t there, or else he would have intervened when Mother Nature slaughtered the of tens of thousands of people in Burma and China. No one deserves to die like that.

China doesn't need this but Burma does

China has over a trillion dollar surplus in its treasury, so why do this when Burma’s cyclone victims have nothing except twice the death toll. This seems to me a gesture making a statement of loyalty on the Bush administration. Although there is a great deal of difference between the Chinese government and the Chinese people and we should offer our compassion, the truth is their government financial surplus is one of the largest in the world.

Oh my god, you people stop complaining about the people in Burma. Go learn some stuff about Burma’s government before you complain. Burma’s government has blocked all foreign aid as “wei we” said. And even if it wasn’t blocked, Burma’s government is corrupted. For past events, whenever money was donated to Burma, approximately only 70% of the money goes to those who in need of aid, the government 'steals' the other 30% and claims that it is for the better good. So stop blaming other countries for not aiding Burma when it is their government’s fault.
