Hindu temples in Malaysia urged to get Indian religious scholars

    (ANI)

Hindu temples in Malaysia have been urged to appoint religious scholars from India so that they can give advice to the people who visit the places of worship.

The Malaysia Nanban quoted Malaysia Hindu Sangam secretary-general M. Baskaran as making the call after attending the formation of the Seremban district-level Hindu Sangam committee on Sunday.

He said people worked very hard these days to earn money, but spent less time with their families.

Baskaran said many Indian youngsters also had social problems because they did not have the opportunity to get moral and religious education.

He said the committee had initiated religious programmes, workshops and seminars to impart knowledge on proper religious procedures and customs.

Baskaran said there were some people who used religion to promote themselves as spiritual leaders for their personal gain. (ANI)
