The real issue here is the large increase in those taking minimum wages and being catered for by an exspensive GP system. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying the level of health care should be based on on your salary after all the NHS was supposed to resolve that issue. But how on earth does the Scottish Executives expect to fund these spiral GP wage rises. Hopefully not by overtaxing us or by masking the funding thru some other alleged road charging scheme.

No Nick, it's simple. The NHS have a new pay structure called 'Agenda for Change'. This change does not affect doctors and dentists - only everyone else. The largest group of health care staff are the Nurses. Their wages on the new system will remain at more or less the same level as before. Another hair brained exercise to keep the health bill down. The doctors of course are still free to award themselves huge inflated pay rises.
