Bon Jovi defends charity work

Jon Bon Jovi has lashed out of critics of his charity work in Louisiana and Pennsylvania, insisting he performs good deeds to "give me peace", not for good publicity.

The Bon Jovi frontman has helped built 26 homes in Philadelphia and New Orleans with the Habitat For Humanity charity.

Bon Jovi told the New York Post newspaper: "I have a responsibility. I have to do it.

It gives me peace. I'd never have believed how giving and volunteerism lights your life up, or the pure joy of getting involved in a cause."
