CLAREMORE, Okla. (AP) _ Bond has been set at one million

dollars in Claremore, Oklahoma, for an Arkansas man accused of

abducting the ex-wife of country music star Garth Brooks at

gunpoint as the man fled a bail bondsman.

Rogers County prosecutors filed a felony kidnapping for

extortion count against 28-year-old Quintine Cornelius Harper. He

is accused of abducting Sandy Brooks from her rural home on Monday.

Harper lists his address as Fayetteville, Arkansas.

According to a sheriff's affidavit, bail bondsmen were looking

for Harper for failing to appear on a Tulsa County criminal case

when they were led to Sandy Brooks' residence. The affidavit said

she told the bondsmen Harper was on her property, but then Harper

approached with a semi-automatic handgun that he pointed at her,

forcing her to drive away with him as a passenger.

Sandy Brooks said later that Harper told her she'd never see her

children again if she didn't cooperate. The affidavit said they

traveled about six miles before stopping the vehicle, at which

point Harper fled into a convenience store. The bondsmen alerted

police and sheriff's deputies, who helped capture Harper.
