Boxer on dangerous driving charge
Boxer Amir Khan has been arrested and charged with dangerous driving, police have confirmed.

Greater Manchester Police said 19-year-old Khan was arrested on Saturday at a police station in his home town of Bolton.

His arrest followed an incident in March on Bradshawgate in the town when a man had his leg broken by a car.

The Olympic silver medallist has been bailed by Bolton magistrates to appear in court at a later date.

A GMP spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "On Thursday 2 March 2006, police were called to Bradshawgate in Bolton at about 4.45pm following reports that a car was in collision with a pedestrian.

"The pedestrian was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital suffering from a broken leg."
