    Some utilities restored in Rangoon
    Malaysia Sun
    Sunday 11th May, 2008

According to government officials, some electricity supplies have been fixed in parts of Myanmar's biggest city of Rangoon.

More than 4,000 electric workers were mobilised over the weekend to repair the power lines which were downed by falling lamp-posts or trees.

Electricity has mostly been restored at the airport, government radio and television stations, hospitals, banks and key factories as well as some residential communities.

The electricity authorities have also claimed 95 percent of the city has access to water supplies.

Water transport from Rangoon to most of the cyclone-hit areas in the area have been resumed for relief freight handling.

What else can you expect from a military dictatorship. The world should outlaw such forms of government.
