Bowie ok with stage show based on his songs
    Malaysia Sun
    Saturday 17th May, 2008
    (IANS)

Legendary rocker David Bowie has given permission for a stage show based on his songs.

Bowie will team up with director Peter Schaufuss to make his "The Man Who Fell To Earth", reports thesun.co.uk. The rocker had played an alien on earth who came to get water for his dying planet in the 1976 movie.
An industry source said: "David has been approached many times with a view of turning his songs into a stage production but he has always said no. He guards his legacy carefully and didn't want a cheesy show tarnishing it. But it was the involvement of Peter that really swung him."
Schaufuss is well-known in the theatre world and is an acclaimed choreographer.
