    Comedian arrested by Myanmar police
    Malaysia Sun
    Thursday 5th June, 2008

A prominent activist has been arrested in Myanmar.

The man, Zarganar, also known as the country's best known comedian was arrested at his house in Rangoon.

His family say they have no idea why he was arrested as police gave no reason when they took him away.

During the raid, police took one-thousand dollars, a computer and some videos.

Zarganar had spoken out recently on behalf of tens of thousands of victims of cyclone Nargis and was also briefly taken into custody last year when he urged people to support protests by Buddhist monks.

    Can't let this go on?

Where is the UN? What have they done to alleviate this intense abuse by the Junta? The UN is no different from the Burmese Junta, total lack of competency and waste of tax dollars. This is not the time for diplomacy. Invade or at least boycott. The Military is letting the people die anyway boycott will at least show our resolve. Do we have to start a petition drive and hand it to the UN or they be fired?
