Poll Finds Women Want Televisions, Not Travel

Morning Edition, August 3, 2006 · Next time you feel romantic, don't think Tiffany, think Best Buy. A new poll shows women prefer gadgets to more traditional romantic gifts. The survey found 3-out-of-4 women would choose a plasma TV over a diamond necklace. And more than half pick the TV over a weekend getaway to Florida. Designer shoes lost out too. The study found 86 percent of women would prefer a new digital video camera.
