Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has objected to what he calls the endless expansion of NATO.
In an interview published in Europe, he has said NATO is expanding eastward to Russia’s borders, increasing threats of war.
He told Paris Match that while NATO is not seen as the main military threat to Russia, the issue has been worsened by NATO absorbing countries that were once part of the Soviet Union, especially those who are immediate neighbours.
Russia’s military doctrine enunciates Moscow's long-standing fears of encirclement by the alliance.
Mr Medvedev said his country would not remain indifferent to NATO’s expansion, and the reconfiguring of missile bases near its borders.
Russia has already warned relations with the West will be difficult if the Ukraine and Georgia, two former Soviet republics, are made members of NATO.

Big Issue!Remember the reaction of America to the Cuban Missle crisis? So if missles are installed on Russia’s borders by the USA then Missles should be allowed in Cuba-Right? If you say No then you understand the russian position... |

Tit for tat is a must now.Russia must deploy Iskander missiles in Kaliningrad and its topol missiles in Venezuela and other friendly South American nations. If NATO expands eastwards,Moscow-Shanghai pact should advance westwards and southwards with its technology, finance, military and infrastructure projects. |

The Russian missiles deployed to Cuba were offensive in nature the polish missiles are a missile shield used to shoot down incoming offensive missiles!
The Russians have no ground to stand on and their position is ludicrious.
They should develop their own missile shield system and deploy them anywhere they wish to.
The only problem is they are to backward to do so and they know it. |

Nazi alliance expansionlooks like the nazis havn’t learnt thier lessons from world war 2,The biggest thing that went against stalin was the nazi’s made and used its atom bombs first with the help from german nazis.if stalin had his way he would hve pushed back the nazis back into the atlantic ocean and then Russians wouldn’t hve to worry about nazi allianace expansion. |
