Sir Roger Moore thrilled he got to keep 007 suits

    (ANI)

London, September 11 : Sir Roger Moore rejoices at the fact that the producers of James Bond movies gave him some of the designer clothes he wore on the sets, after the shooting would be complete.

The 79-year-old star considers the tailor-made suits to be a fashionable perk to playing the suave agent's role.

"I used to get the suits, because I'm cheap and don't like buying my own!" the Daily Express quoted the actor, who last played Bond in the 1985 flick 'A View To A Kill', as jokily saying.

"On a Bond film you'd find there would be five or six of the same suit, and all tailor-made. As they were made for me, it seemed only fair that I should get the odd one or two. It's a little perk that actors get from time to time," he added.

Moore, however, bemoans that he cannot wear those suits now because they do not fit him.

"Alas, they wouldn't fit now," he says.

By Extraordinary fellow, Roger Moore. I worked with 'Sir Roger' in an episode of 'Maverick,' in 1961 e, 09-13-07, 07:43 AM

Sir Roger Moore thrilled he got to keep 007 suits

Sir Roger Moore is a 'wonderful human being.' I first met him on the set of 'Maverick' att Warner Brothers in 1960, I thin. I did an episode entitled, “Thunder From the North."/ For more on Roger Moore and me, go to the 'Combat!TV series page at www.jodavidsmeyer.com/Combat! (Go to the 'Guest Book Signings of 'Robert Winston Mercy.'/ As 'Robert Winston,' I starred in the motion pictures, “Blood Thirst," “The Ternal Mask," “Horror From Beyond," “My Beloved Philippines," “The Star Fighters," “Paradise of Terror," and 'Mark Twain’s The Double Barreled Detective Story," etc. I was under exclusive contract to 'Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios in the 1960s and was a semi-regular on the classic WW2 series, “Combat!" starring Rick Jason and Vic Morrow./ In 1966, I was up for the role of 'James Bond 007,' when producer 'Charles K. Feldman' was thinking of doin a serious version of Ian Fleming’s 'Casino Royale.' Unfortunately, I was doing a film in the Philippines and had to turn down the role of 007. Unfortunately, for Feldman and the rest of us, he turned Ian Fleming’s brilliant suspense story into a spoof with 'Woody Allen.' (Lucky, me!)/ I love 'Sir Roger.' He’s the greatest. For more on James Bond, go to www.spywise.net and catch 'The James Bond Files.' (See the 'Letters of O.F. Snelling (Bond) to Ronald Payne' and 'The Untold Stories...The Ronald Payne-James Bond Interviews' in 3 Parts. There is also an interview with me./ In 1998, 'Never Say Never Again'/ 'Thunderball' producer — Kevin McClory — had me tapped to play the villain 'Blofeld' in his proposed film of “Warhead," which would have brought back Sean Connery to the role of 007. Unfortunately, the film was stopped in the courts by MGM (ironically, my old studio.) Best to all, 'Robert Winston Mercy' aka 'Robert Winston' in his many Hollywood films.
